Certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as a Fire Investigator Avanced, Arson Investigator Advanced and Fire Service Instructor II.
Certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education as an Advanced Peace Officer.
Certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services as an Emergency Care Attendant. | | | | | Chief Bettis has served many years in Public Safety serving with the Lumberton Volunteer Fire Department and EMS for 10 years between 1977 and 1988, the Beaumont Fire Department from 1981 and 1985, the Chambers County Sheriff's Department from 1990 to 1999 and from 2008 to present, and the Winnie-Stowell Volunteer EMS while it was still a part of the Winnie-Stowell VFD from 1994 to 2002.
